New Orleans Hotel Overview
New Orleans Hotel is a genuine country pub hotel. Built in 1866 it’s got the kind of history you can only earn. Don’t worry, they gave the place a bit of a spruce up in 2019 so the rooms don’t look like they’re for gold miners anymore. The food and the pub are great by any measure. And, the hotel is a great price.
Rooms here are tiny but as it was recently renovated they are not scodie. They are only 18 sqm which is fine for a night in the double room but a bit cramped for a longer stay. Remarkably they also offer a Quad room with a double bed and bunk beds. The quad room is the same tiny size as the double at 18 sqm. Honestly it’s a great option for a family on a tight budget looking for 1 night on the way through. But not the place to spend a week.
Restaurants
Some hotels have a restaurant and bar, but this hotel is a restaurant and bar with a few hotel rooms out the back. It’s a great pub, with good food and a good atmosphere. The pub is the best part of this hotel.
Negatives
Did we mention they have a quad room that’s only 18 sqm. That 4.5 sqm per person. On the plus side it’s right in the middle of Arrowtown, and it’s really cheap. Great for an overnight stay.
