Wyndham Garden Queenstown Overview

Wyndham Garden Queenstown was new in 2018 so it’s still in reasonable condition. It basically exists to provide small cheap rooms near the airport. If that’s what you want it’s great. If you’re a tourist wanting the Queenstown experience then spend a little more and stay closer to town. It has some great views of the Remarkables from some rooms.

They have a mix of hotel rooms (No kitchenette) and apartments. The hotel rooms are on the smaller side of medium at 23 square metres. They’re not tiny, but no one would call the spacious either. They are very far from luxury but you shouldn’t be expecting that at this price point. The apartments start at 30 square metres for a studio, and range up to 36 for a deluxe one bedroom. Treat deluxe with a grain of salt. This is aimed at business travellers who work for terrible employers, and couples who can’t afford anything better.

Remarkables Park is a fast growing area of Queenstown with a large shopping area, and in addition to Wyndham Gardens and Ramada there’s a Quest and a Holiday Inn due to be completed in Q3 2021.

Restaurants

There’s no restaurant but there’s a cafe downstairs that’s not run by the hotel. So you can get breakfast.

Wellness

Wyndham Garden Queenstown has a small fitness room.

Negatives

It’s lacking in soul. There’s nothing to like or hate about this hotel. It’s a bland airport hotel. (With some nice views from the right rooms). It’s cheap, in a good way (on your wallet) and a bad way (it feels cheap). It’s clean and well maintained though, and it’s in Queenstown which is awesome. The Remarkables Park area is great if you’re in Queenstown for the skiing, not the nightlife. It’s on the way to Remarkables Ski Field.
