Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa Overview

As you’d expect from Hilton their Queenstown Resort & Spa is one of the best 5 star hotels in the Queenstown area. It’s right on the lakefront with stunning views from most rooms as well as from the restaurants and shared spaces. Located in Kawarau Village it’s a 12 minute drive to the centre of town. Because it’s located further from the centre of town there’s plenty of room for extras like a heated indoor pool, a large well equipped fitness centre, and the fabulous eforea spa. There’s water taxis that can zip you across the lake to town if you plan on drinking and don’t want to drive.

It’s a Hilton so the rooms are every bit as luxurious as you would expect from one of the worlds best luxury hotel chains. There’s a variety of rooms ranging from excellent to absolutely stunning. The smallest rooms have a lounge area and fireplace while the larger ones come with a private balcony with your own hot tub. It’s great for couples but but also popular with families that can afford it. They have some great family suites that will fit a family of 5.

Restaurants

Hilton Queenstown Resort and Spa is famous for its in-room dining. But if you prefer to dine in a restaurant then Wakatipu Grill is magnificent. Wakatipu Grill is a winner of the World Luxury Restaurant Awards, open from 7am till late daily. Dine outside on the terrace and enjoy the views. Relax in the pinot pit with a glass or two of Central Otago’s finest.

Spa

The spa offers a range of treatments but my favorite on a non snow day has to be a massage. If you’ve been skiing several days in a row a massage is absolute heaven.

Negatives

The only negative about Hilton Queenstown Resort is that it’s not walking distance from town. But jump in a taxi, or hop in a water taxi and you’ll be there in no time. Queenstown’s really not that big.
