Swiss-Belsuites Pounamu Queenstown is a 5 star serviced apartment hotel. They offer a mix of studio, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. The one and 2 bedroom apartments are generously sized with full kitchens. The 1 bedroom apartments are 74 square metres and the 2 bedrooms are 104 square metres. The studios are really small at only 21 square metres which is small for a hotel room let alone a studio apartment. The studios also only have a kitchenette, think toaster, microwave, small sink. It’s far from a full kitchen, they do have laundry facilities in room though which is a bonus if you are skiing for a week or two.
Location wise Swiss-Belsuites is a 17 minute walk from Fergburger which frankly is the not just the centre of Queenstown but quite possibly the centre of the universe. There is a busy road and a bunch of houses between you and the lake but there are great views from the second floor rooms. It’s not the private lakefront lodge of your dreams but it is really nice. It’s furnished to a good standard and well designed so you have everything you need. The studios are not as nice as the larger top floor apartments. This will be regular folks idea of luxury, but if you are used to nice things you might find it a little underwhelming.
This hotel is good for families or groups of friends. It’s fine for couples but not really a romantic spot if that’s what you are looking for.
Restaurants
Swiss-Belsuites Pounamu Queenstown is a serviced apartment complex, there is no restaurant, or bar. All rooms have cooking facilities, but remember the 1 & 2 bedroom apartments have full kitchens. The Studios only have a basic kitchenette.
Negatives
It’s on a busy road, so not the quietest or most private. It’s a longer walk to town than you might prefer (but still walkable for most people). The studio apartments are SMALL.
