The Lindis Overview
The Lindis is a super luxury lodge like no other. It is rated in the top 5 lodges in the world. To stay at The Lindis is an experience you’ll remember for a lifetime. Come here to relax, fly fish, horse trek, hike, and experience the southern skies without any light pollution. Or just to revel in a level of luxury that has to be seen to be believed. Getting here is an adventure in itself; it’s an incredible 2.5-hour scenic drive from Queenstown. (Or you can take a helicopter). Everything here is world-class, from the food and wine to the architecture and furnishings. The scenery is fucking incredible. You have to see it to believe it.
Accommodation is in either a master suite which is huge at 65 sqm and has stunning views, a huge bed, luxurious bathtub and it’s own fireplace. Or a slightly smaller (50 sqm) but just as luxurious lodge suite. Or you can enjoy a pod. Located a short walk from the main lodge each of the 3 pods has 3 mirrored glass walls so you feel like you’re living in the landscape. They’re smaller at only 18 sqm, but each has its own deck and private outdoor bath.
The Lindis Dining
Dining in the great hall at Lindis is included in your stay. It’s not so much a meal as a dining experience, with best available New Zealand produce expertly prepared and stunningly plated, served course after course with carefully selected wines to compliment the food. You’ll not go hungry at The Lindis, and you’ll remember the dining experience as much as you remember the scenery.
Activities
Horse trekking, fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking, 4 wheel drive tours, helicopter excursions, heli skiing, it’s all about the scenery and the outdoors.
Negatives
It’s quite remote, but that’s kind of why you come here. It’s stunning. You’d have to be really nit picking to find fault with a Lodge that is frankly one of the best available anywhere in the world. Maybe if the outdoors isn’t really your thing then it’s not for you? But I could spend a week in the lodge and not get bored. And could happily spend a lifetime exploring the surrounding environment and coming back to The Lindis each night.
