But it is nice. Clean and fairly new (2019), so still in good condition. Only a 5 minute walk to the centre of town.

The Hotel is located in 5 Mile which is as you may have guessed about 5 miles from town, you’ll want a rental car if you are staying here.

Holiday Inn Queenstown Frankton Road offers a double room with lake view that has 2 queen beds. it’s a great hotel in Queenstown for a family of four. There’s a restaurant and bar, a spa pool, and plenty of room outside for kids to run around. It; nice but not flash, and some rooms have great views.

Crowne Plaza is a good quality 4 star hotel and pretty well priced, rooms are 32 square meters a available with a King size bed or two doubles. Lake view rooms are a little more expensive, they are worth the extra if you’re going to spend time in the hotel. But if you’re out and about all day don’t bother.

Things to look for when choosing a family hotel in queenstown.
Proximity to town is important with kids, you want to be close to town so you can easily pop out and do all the things you want without having to drive around finding a carpark.
It’s also good to get a restaurant with a buffet breakfast, all you can eat bacon is a great way to start your day and kids will remember the experience forever if they are not used to it.
Another thing to look for is a pool, they are not that common in Queenstown hotels but it can be a fantastic way to keep kids entertained that doesn’t cost a fortune. (Heritage Queenstown has the best pool).
Most hotels offer double rooms with two double beds, but it pays to check the size of the beds. It can vary from two King size beds to queen or even fairly small doubles. Families with older kids may appreciate the privacy of a 2 bedroom suite or an apartment. Expect to pay more for an apartment. There are also a few budget accommodation options that offer binks allowing 5 or more guests into a very affordable room, which is great if you want your family to experience Queenstown but you are on a budget.
