You can’t visit Queenstown and not do a bungy jump. Afterall, Queenstown is the spiritual home of bungy. Actually invented in England by Oxford University dangerous sports club, but the first commercial jump operation was opened in Queenstown by AJ Hackett and they are still at it.

Nevis Bungy is the biggest, and with bungy bigger is better. It’s 134m high which is more than twice as high as any other bungy in Queenstown.

How much does it cost to bungee jump in Queenstown?
As at April 2022 Nevis Bungy is $247.50, that buys you 8.5 seconds of freefall. Kawarau Bungy is $184.50. Ledge Bungy is $205.

Nevis Bungy is 134m, Ledge Bungy is 47m, and Kawarau Bungy is 43m.

Where is the highest bungy jump?
Not in Queenstown, AJ Hackett Macau Tower at 234m is the highest bungy in the world.

Can bungee jumping hurt you?
No, but chickening out can really hurt your pride. Any normal healthy person can bungy jump. however if you’re pregnant or have photosensitive epilepsy you are not allowed to jump. Also if you have osteoporosis, scoliosis or a recent concussion it’s not recommended.

Can you eat before bungee jumping?
Of course you can. It’s very rare to throw up. But they won’t let you jump if you’re drunk.

What happened to Skippers Canyon Bungy Jump?
It was bought by AJ Hackett and closed down. Well kind of, it’s now called Pipeline Bungy and is only open for the exclusive use of corporate groups.

Which Hotels are close to AJ Hackett Bungy?
AJ Hackett bungy centre (where the bus to Nevis bungy leaves from) is in the middle of Queenstown, so there’s plenty of nice hotels nearby. The Ledge Bungy is at the top of Skyline Gondola which is also right in town. Kawarau bungy is further out of town Gibbston Valley Lodge and Spa is a nice hotel close by but it’s only a short drive from Queenstown.
