Shotover Jet
The Shotover Jet is one of the oldest and is the best jet boat experience in Queenstown. They’ve been terrifying tourists since 1965. Offering exhilarating rides through the Shotover Canyon reaching speeds of over 85 kph. Shotover Jet is the only operator with access to the Shotover Canyon. If you are looking for thrills no one offers more than Shotover Jet.
The Jet Boats operate year round, as you can imagine it’s pretty cold in the winter so make sure your dressed warmly and have a waterproof jacket. A warm hat and gloves are also helpful. The boats actually have heated handrails – but trust us you’ll still want gloves. If you go in winter they give you a buff to cover your face.
The Shotover Jet Boat ride takes around 25 minutes. But it’s all action. Many other operators spend most of the ride taking you somewhere cool. At Shotover Jet the entire ride is awesome. That’s why it’s the most famous.
I did this with my 13 year old son and 11 year old daughter and they both said it was their favorite activity in Queenstown. That’s us in the photo above 🙂
Located close to town in Arthurs Point, this is a must do activity and should be on everyone’s list of things to do in Queenstown.
